Conversing with Sigfús – Guided Tour with Einar Falur Ingólfsson

Einar Falur Ingólfsson welcomes guests and provides insights into the exhibition Conversing with Sigfús – In the Footsteps of Sigfús Eymundsson.
The exhibition opened on March 8 and showcases works by Einar Falur and Sigfús Eymundsson (1837-1911).
Einar Falur has extensively studied Sigfús' photographs and has written about them in his photography history teachings.
Over the past four years, Sigfús' images have guided Einar’s travels across Iceland, where he has recreated Sigfús' compositions and captured his own modern interpretations.
The exhibition features a selection of these conversation pieces between Sigfús and Einar Falur, including:
New prints from Sigfús' original glass plates
Rare 19th-century original prints from the time the photographs were taken. These are rare treasures from the National Museum’s Photography Collection, rarely displayed. A unique opportunity to gain in-depth insight into the exhibition and Sigfús' photographic legacy.
