Children's tour: Like Cats and Dogs (Monday)

Children's guided tour during the winter break: Like Cats and Dogs - Exhibition tour and pop-up workshop with dogs and cats
February 19 and 23 at 2 pm, both days.
During winter break in elementary schools, the National Museum of Iceland invites elementary school children to come on a guided tour of the exhibition Like Cats and Dogs, which deals with the coexistence of people and these animals through the ages. Today, dogs and cats hold a special place in people's lives and are more often than not considered family members. In the past, more thought was given to the usefulness they provided on the farm.
The exhibition features photographs that capture the animals in various contexts, bones that have been found during archaeological excavations, and all kinds of dog and cat items. There are also fun film clips showing dogs and cats in all kinds of coexistence with us humans.
After viewing the exhibition, children can craft and color your own poppet cat or poppet dog, in the children's and family shall on the ground floor, to take home. All materials will be provided on site.
There is no admission fee for children under 18 years of age. A ticket to the museum is valid for adults at the event. Please note that a ticket is equivalent to an annual pass to the museum.
