The Peysafatadagur at Kvennaskólinn is an essential part ofthe school's work, and this tradition can be traced back to 1921 when thestudents decided to come to school wearing the traditional costume forcelebrations. It should be noted that in the first decades of Kvennaskólinn inReykjavik, founded in 1874, it was customary for students to wear Icelandiccostumes at school. In 1921, when Peysufatadagur was established, some girlsstill wore such traditional costumes to school.
