Introduction

The National Museum offers an introduction to the museum's activities for those beginning their university studies. The introduction lasts about an hour and a half and consists of a slideshow presentation in a lecture hall or classroom, followed by a guided tour of the museum's exhibitions. This visit is particularly beneficial for student groups from introductory courses in history, folklore, museology, anthropology, and archaeology. In addition to the introduction to the museum's activities, students gain insight into the possibility of utilizing the resources the museum holds about the history, environment, and society of Iceland from the settlement era to the present day.

Guided tour on topics requested by teachers

Special requests regarding topics and focus areas for the tour are welcome. Museum educators lead the visit, and it should be noted that they are primarily experts in the museum's exhibitions rather than specific academic fields.
