In 2004, the museum of the National Museum of Iceland at Suðurgutta was reopened after renovation. At the same time, the basic exhibition Nation Will Exist - Culture and Society for 1200 Years was opened. On that occasion, the TV show Past in a New Light was made. On February 24, 2013, 150 years have passed since the establishment of the National Museum, which was then called the Icelandic Museum of Antiquities. On that occasion, a documentary was made, providing a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the diverse activities of the museum.
