A new study of ancient kumli

The book Bundled-up in Blue publishes a new study of ancient kumli and was published in conjunction with the eponymous exhibition at the National Museum in 2016.

The book is published in conjunction with the exhibition of the same name that is taking place in The Corner on the 2nd floor of the National Museum.

It features articles by Sondra Sif Einarsdóttir, Michèle Hayeur Smith, Joe W. Walser III and Julia Tubman on the study of a settler's rump found in 1938 in a tomb in the East. Advances in science and research methods now allow us to know more about the woman than when she was found such as about her state of health, age and origin.

The introduction to the book is written by Steinunn Kristjánsdóttir, Professor of Archaeology at the University of Iceland and the National Museum, while Margret Hallgrímsdóttir Director General writes a foreword.
