Museums are an exciting and creative learning platform for elementary school students. The possibilities of learning in partnership with a museum are many and the outcome is often particularly rewarding for students.
The Concept Hat
The museum teacher of the National Museum has collected in the Handbook Concept Hat some experiences of creative cooperation between the museum and primary school teachers from all over the country. The experience stories can be used as a starting point in a conversation between primary school teachers and museum teachers about a suitable implementation based on the study material with which the students are working. Conversation is key because this is how ideas develop.
The National Museum's museum educators hope the handbook encourages educators to look to collections when thematic learning is at the door about anything related to human life, the arts, or nature in the country.
